Storytelling, character animation – finding weird ideas
The work of the Dutch animation studio Job, Joris & Marieke can be described as cute and funny, but always centered around very weird questions like, ‘What if you accidently exchange heads with your best friend?’ or ‘What if your partner decides to become you?’ Joris Oprins will present their wonderful playful process to create the stories for their hilarious short films. By the end of the presentation you will know exactly what an injured toe, an imaginary duckling and Waterloo by Abba have to do with their work!
In 2015, their short film ‘A Single Life’ was nominated for the Oscar for best short animation. Their work has been screened at numerous international festivals, receiving over 75 awards.
