Research Assistant for research management and project acquisition | focus: Digital Games

We are looking for a full-time research associate at the earliest possible date. The position is initially limited to June, 30 2019. You will be responsible for researching and identifying relevant funding programs and initiating potential cooperations. You will support professors, staff and students making applications for and handling with research projects and funding. Part of the job is the development and management of research proposals, be it EU-, national or federal funds, budget calculation according to the university’s and the potential funder’s directives.

Research Assistant for the project “Procedural Generation of Game Content” | Game Developer

Application Deadline: Jan, 9 2017

We are looking for a part-time (31,864 hrs/week ) position through April, 30 2019. It is expected that the successful candidate will obtain a doctorate within the subject area of the project. As team member of the project, you will research innovative and procedural methods in the generation and application of content in commercial game products, in collaboration with Blue Byte GmbH (a cooperation partner of CGL). Your responsibilities include the research and development of PES methods and test procedures in the context of commercial game development, the analysis and documentation of the fundamentals, acquired knowledge, and the examination of the application of PES methods within an academic context and in relation to future research and development proposals; for example, the application of artificial intelligence or “machine learning”. You will also establish a library based on the PES-tool kit created within the parameters of the project as well as further usage in C++ open source development environments (e.g. Unreal 4). Furthermore you will be responsible for up to 3 SWS of teaching duties.
