Mobile Gaming Middleware (2009-2011)

In this research project, CGL designed and developed the educative, augmented reality-based mobile game, Colonia Mysteria as a sample application for the mobile gaming middleware that was developed in collaboration with the Cologne based game studio Rockabyte. The game blends architecture and people from the present day with Roman Cologne, allowing players to touch history on site. The game was designed for students aged 10-13 as an experience oriented history class that addresses the media behavior of the age group.

The project was funded by the Transfer.NRW: FH-Extra program from 2009-2011
