About

OUTCASTED –  a game that lets players experience the world through the eyes of a homeless person – was the winner of the 2014 Games for Change Students Challenge, an initiative by Games for Change Europe, Autodesk and Unity Technologies that aims to leverage important societal topics through the means of games.

Within the course of one year, 96 student teams from 13 countries had submitted concepts and prototypes for games with a real-world impact. Nine shortlisted games were finally selected to compete in the Games for Change Europe Awards. The jury consisting of game and media industry visionaries honored OUTCASTED at the Games for Change Europe Awards in Paris: “An impressive, smart and elegant approach to the subject with an immediate impact on the players.”

With numerous TV appearances, on air promotion by French/German TV channel ARTE and extensive online and print coverage the winning team, received major exposure. Since winning the the Games for Change Challenge for Students,  OUTCASTED was invited to be showcased at key events for media and sustainability such as the Social Good Summit in Madrid and the Europeana Education & Creative Industries Event under Latvian EU Presidency.
